Job title                                Software Engineer

Salary - negotiable

Solartron Metrology is looking for a Software Developer to join the Engineering team at our Bognor Regis Head Office.

Solartron Metrology Ltd is a leading, fast paced UK manufacturer of digital measurement systems. Due to rapid organic growth, we are looking to increase our development team.

The candidate must be a motivated professional with a methodical approach to their work. They will be developing new and supporting existing Windows software applications for measurement systems both internally and for customer applications. This person must have effective communication skills and be personable. This is a permanent role that will give the successful applicant an opportunity to learn and expand skills under the supervision of a senior software engineer.


The candidate must be able to clearly demonstrate design of Windows PC applications that interface with external hardware such as stepper motors, sensors and programmable test equipment.

A prominent level of skill and experience in the following areas is required (Primary criteria):

• Design of desktop WINDOWS applications (not web applications).

• Understanding of OO design and implementation

• Experienced with C#

• Experience with WinForms

• Knowledge of the .Net framework

• Previous software development experience, either work related or open-source projects.

• Create technical documentation and test plans.

• Able to work effectively in a small team managing own time efficiently.


Additional advantageous skills include:

• Experience with GIT or similar change control system

• Knowledge of SQL

• C++/C

• Basic Understanding of electronics

We are looking for Production Operators to join the team initially for a six-month assignment.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of working to targets, be motivated and keen to learn new skills.
